pinging noise?

Hi guys,

i have a 2012 GSR and i have about 400 miles on my car. I started to notice that everytime i turn off my car, about 20 seconds later i hear a pinging sound. Does anyone else have this noise? if not what do you guys think it could be? i havent pushed it hard yet and i let the car cool down for a minute before i turn it off.

thanks in advance!

It happens on every car I have ever driven. Its just the hot metal cooling down ( exhaust etc)

Take it back to the dealer and have them look at it for free.

^seriously?

it's probably your heat shields contracting as the cool down like others said. if you install an aftermarket exhaust and remove some heatshields you will see that the sound is greatly diminished.

also the ecu relay clicks off after about 10-15 seconds of it being shut off.

What? It would be free lol

Whenever I had a problem with my car I would just take it to the dealer. Why take that risk of it being something more than what you guys are telling him? Oh that's right your all Pro Mechanics that give your Pro knowledge and your always right
