Getting black smoke out my car
A few months ago I was on the highway cruising in my eclipse. A WW Evo came up behind me. It was a 2010 or 2011. He gunned it a sling shot around me. But his car was smoking out the exhaust really bad. My understanding with any car is if you are getting smoke out the exhaust it usually isnt a good thing. Have you noticed any new noises coming from the engine? Any lack of power? Any other signs of issues basically?
I'm tuned in low 11 AFR's, and I dont make any black smoke. Even when the car was pig rich untuned with A/F's in the mid 10's bottoming out the lowest reading on my aem wideband, I still have never seen smoke. I have a full 3" exhaust with no cat. Maybe it does come out, and I just cant see through my tinted windows. I would actually want some black smoke to come out just to sleep better.

LOL the variation of responses in this order made me laugh.

Too much black smoke can be a problem too. I mean we all know the factory X tune is WAY rich. But can't hurt to think about getting a tune and datalog.
