What would you guys do?

So i am currently having some issues with my brakes/wheels... 3 visits to the dealership later, they say its the hubs that are bent and need replacing, how that happened i dont know. Its under warranty so go for it! However they called me saying that my front discs are warped and need replacing... Not to mention new tires lol

They gave me an estimate of 2300$ to replace the two rotors !! Ps. I have 25000 km on it...

I personally think they are trying to pull a fast one and i am wondering if i should make a complaint on mitsubishi canada or just simply go to another dealership... What would you guys think?

Bent hubs could be the cause for the rotors and tires. It could cause uneven, or unnecessary wear on those parts.

No reason to make a complaint, it's a dealership, they're instructed to replace rotors, not resurface them. Either get your stock rotors resurfaced at an independent shop or buy some aftermarket replacement rotors.

Well I won't get anything replaced by the dealership that isn't covered by my warranty.

What would cause a bent hub anyways?

Rotors and brakes are a wear and tear item which won't be covered under warranty. At least you'll be able to get the hub warrantied. Sticky situation as I would never do brakes at the stealership, but you need warranty work done at the same time.

What causes it? Lack of oil (dirt and ice build up) restricts movement, over or or under torquing of the rim bolts, rotor is warped (from hard braking and cooling phases), and a bent wheel all could cause this. In my experience, it's usually caused by a combo of not torqueing evenly as well as braking hard in wintery conditions. It's the chicken and the egg~ warped rotors can cause hub bending, a bent hub can cause rotor warping.

Do your cars brakes make a clud clud clud sound as you're coming to a stop or have vibration symptoms on the steering wheel?

Actually yes, as i am coming to a stop, it is making a noisy click click click sound...

Would this be because of the rotors? Or the bent hub?

Have you already considered having the dealership replace the hubs but not replace the rotors and pads? Then you do the rotors and pads yourself. It's pretty easy, a fun project and you will save a load of cash.

Of course i wont pay rotors at the dealership, could easily buy some slotted girodiscs and it would still be cheaper than what they are offering... Same goes for the pads

As for resurfacing the rotors, i would never consider it...

My only concern is the question in my post above... Did the bent hubs cause the warpped rotors? If so i should probably do it asap after i get mg new hubs...

Thanks for your input
