This. Drive the car for abit then mod it. As for doing mods yourself, pretty much everything can be done with basic tools and on jack stands. Probably the hardest mod to do is removing the stock 02 housing. I have...

BB FP Red Turbo
FIC 1100cc Injectors
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator
ETS 4" IC
AMS CAI
AMS UICP
AMS LICP w/ TiAL QR bov
AMS DP
T1R Resinated TP
Tomei Expreme Exhaust
AMS SS Braided Brake Lines
Motul RBF 600 brake fluid
TWM Short Throw Shifter with cage and full bushing replacement
Projector Headlights
Low Beam and Fog light HID's
DSG Dual Gauge Pillar
AEM Digital Boost and Wideband Gauges
AMR Coilovers
PF01 18X9.5
GS 3port boost solenoid

Every part has been installed by me. 2 friends helped me install my dp and my turbo and thats it. I'll also be doing the clutch myself as well (along with my friend)

Snakes709, did everything you installed come with instructions? Or are you like a mechanic, or google how to install stuff?

Pretty much everything came with instructions and if it didnt, then i look on the forums for a how-to. Even the parts that came with instructions i still read the how-to's to guide me. I'm not a mechanic by trade but i am mechanically inclinded. I'm a tank driver/gunner/loader so we work on armoured vehicals

My wife and I are thinking of moving to San Diego in the next year.

In the meantime, grats on the new ride. My best advice is to learn the car inside and out. It's a race car in factory form. When you need more power, updating handling, then mod. It really takes a seasoned driver to push these cars beyond their stock roots.

Enjoy it as much as you can

For the people who have purchased 08+ Evo GSR/MRs, what kind of prices are you able to negotiate. Mainly what was the sticker price and what were you able to talk them down to? I hear most average cars have a markup of $2,000 for every $10,000 of value on the car.

You hear lies.

An Evo GSR with a base price of $35,290 (MSRP) cost the dealer $33,144, that's after dealer hold back (which is $690 for a GSR).

The best thing to do is ask the dealer to see the dealer invoice. That will be their bottom line cost including dealer hold back.

Average mark up over dealer cost is 5%-10%...that's the MSRP.

Sith_killer. I am sorry. I guess I should have said "USED" 08+ Evo GSR/MRs. I know the profit margin on used cars is A LOT more than new cars. Dealer can have a test drive car for sale, bought at auction, lease return, or trade-in. I would like to ask the same question but in regards to used Evo Xs. My bad.
