I know it's hard to tell, because most of us have evolved so we can't "read" the emotions of stone-age faces any more, but I'm a trained psychologist and can tell you that self-portrait that Ken posted above is actually showing a smile. So telling him to smile more kind of misses the point, FJF.

Question is... Has anyone had the bottom of the seat widened an inch or two before?
Dude are you complaining? I have size 46 waist and while it is snug.... I don't think its a huge problem

Dudes calling other dudes fat? Give me a break... Let's keep this thread on-topic from here on out. The OP asked a simple, and valid, question; let's see if we can figure out a solution for him. Supraboy1 told me a while back that he figured out a way to do it, let me see if I can get him to chime in.

Yes the seats can be widened. There are movable slides/brackets under the seats.

I widened mine. It took all of about 10 min.

Holy moly this threads comments are funny.
Thank god these seats fit me perfect, although I never wondered how a heavier person would fit into these recaros. I suppose it would be a huge problem getting in and out let alone driving long distances. Hope u find a fix to this problem OP.

No, not that could ever find. The seats were no designed for fat Americans. I'm one of those. I'm 6'3" and 265 lbs. For long trips, over an hour, the thigh bolsters would be a touch uncomfortable.

The seat is basically a metal frame covered in padding and leather, or cloth. They are adjustable. Trust me. I did it and Kracka and others have had a seat in them to see what I did. For me it makes them much more comfortable.

How do you adjust them though?

Supraboy1, if you could give a couple of steps in how you did this...did you have to unbolt and remove the seats from the car to access the brackets? thanks man...

He did not have to unbolt or remove his seats from the car.

Seriously guys, go outside and look for yourself. Tom (Supraboy1) was able to do it very quickly without his hand being held every step of the way so I'm sure the rest of you will be able to too.
