Found a good floor jack adapter

I found it frustrating not being able to jack the car up on the side. I got one of these adapters (no affiliation) http://www.mrtool.com/browse.cfm/flo...er/4,1359.html
and it fits the frame great. I can now easily jack the car up on the side.

Yes, I used it tonight. Works great. The dowel that slides into the jack's hole is adjustable so it should fit virtually any floor jack with a round hole in the pad area.

Why not just lift it from the usual point used with a lift. Thats hard to word without being confusing. The rail that runs under the car about a foot in doesnt bucket under the weight... Neither does the plate behind the fron tires that has the 3 holes stamped into it. Or the rear suspension arm mount

because that is not the normal lift point. The drivers manual shows the correct location to be on the seam welds.

Yup, if using a scissor jack that fits perfectly into the notches. But if you use a typical floor jack on the seam weld, you risk folding it over.

For the front, the ideal location is under the splash panels, on the frame. This method gets both front tires up at once. (Be sure to block the rear tires.) It's a bit of a pain, especially if your car is lowered. It means driving up on ramps in order to unclip the panels. This pic shows it best.

To lift the rear up, use the diff. Circled spot is where you put the jack.

I also use this spot. You may need to drive onto a pc of 2x10 to get access to it, depending on how low your car is, or you jack height.

Always put something thin but strong between the jack and your car to help distribute the weight evenly. Such as a piece of hardwood flooring.

The only issue for me was how to lift the car when I'm putting it on jack-stands. The rear is easy: lift by the diff. The front is harder, because my favorite lift-points (see above) are the same as the best places for the jack-stands. That was solved by the skid-plate.

Use a hockey puck. My frame rails are still in perfect shape. Fits the rear diff perfectly too.

Could be worse. Could have been one of those Harbor Freight Chinese-prison-labor jacks, eh?
