New to the Evo Scene!
I got my 2012 X with 12k miles not too long ago.
Just got my AD08s, AEM CAI, Synapse BOV, and AMS UICP since the bottom pipings will be fit with the AEM intake.
I do not wish to do exterior mods but more of a sleeper WITHOUT a tune.
I am about to order some SWIFT SPEC-R Springs and probably thinking of upgrading my speakers and get an aftermarket headunit as well.
But my question is, what other mods can I do so that I won't void warranty? I met a cool guy at a mitsubishi dealer and is willing to work with some mods if I have to claim warranty. For sure i am not going to flash my ecu since im in the CA SMOG area.
I dont want the car to be too loud either (I like to keep my neighborhood quiet when I drive around coming home at night).
Someone suggested a downpipe, new intercooler, cats? I am definitely not going to pass smog but I will keep all my OEM parts and swap out before going to the dealership. It is my second turbo car (coming from an STI) but I only had it for 3 months because a strut broke on me and sold it off after fixing it. (plus i like the evo interior better!)
Any suggestions? No track for this car, it is my daily, maybe one day and one time at the track in the future

I need to hit up that mitsu dealer for my warranty lol, I heard of stories where mitsu voids the warranty without any aftermarket parts installed on the car I guess you're lucky. But i would still suggest getting a tune even tho ur only installing UICP and AEM intake.
by the way post some pictures

If you don't want a tune your "safe" mods would be a drop in filter for the stock intake and stock-like catback exhaust. As soon as you remove the factory cat and go high flow you need a tune, downpipe - tune.
Sad to say, but it's hard to avoid tuning the ECU once you start putting bolt ons on the car.
Not sure why you're so against tuning. Out of all of the mods you mentioned, tuning is going to give you the most gains, even with the car stock, and it's also the easiest mod to undo if you have to take the car in for any reason.

Drop in filter, uicp, intercooler and turboback with hfc are my bolt ons. No plans to get a tune. Car runs rich in the low 10's a/f verified via my wideband. Never seen a boost spike either verfifed via my boost gauge. Local service manager told me he's just fine with what I have on the car but as soon as I start flashing the ecu and upping the boost he won't honor any possible warranty claims. I know a tune would really wake the car up but I don't find it necessary right now.

You don't "need" a tune with those mods, but you are still running the risk of something going goofy.
If you do move up to a new intake then you will definitely see things lean out, especially if it's a 3" one from someone like ETS. Even mine, which is an Injen, leaned the car out quite a bit and it's not really a true 3" intake.
To be honest, you're kind of playing with fire. You can relfash to stock with a Cobb AP whenever you want and when you take it in for service. In your situation it's more of a fail safe than anything else.
As a few other people have said, I'm not sure why you are so against a tune. Not only for power, but for longevity of the car it's wise to get these retuned. The Mitsu tune is horrible and you aren't doing yourself any favors by keeping it there.

For the umpteenth time (but probably not last by a long shot), mods do not void entire warranties. Unauthorized mods allow the warrantor to deny warranty service on any and all parts affected by the unauthorized mods.
So, contrary to what was suggested, lowering springs can have an effect on the warranty. For example, if you blow a CV joint, they can claim that the lowering springs caused this (and they would probably win if you took it to arbitration). At the same time, if you replaced the turbo with an FP Rainbow (which is a joke name), they can't use that to deny warranty service on the radio.
