CA smog😡
Hello Evo M,
My car is due for the great California smog . Problem I'm having is with the new smog law you can only have evap system not ready. Now being tuned my rear o2 sensor has been cancelled. Is there anyway to get it to show ready without having to go to a Tunner? I just want to smog my car and start modding it
Thanks in advance,
Ben

sure, you just need to purchase a logging/tuning cable from either tactrix or evoscan and then do some reading in the ecuflash subforum. You should take a look at the sticky thread that lists all the important tuning threads, paying particular attention to the one about emissions testing.

then all you have to do is read and download some free stuff.

there is some smog equipment that the evo did not come with, so setting that stuff to ready/pass will trigger a fail.

for what ever reason the read from ECU tab stays gray and it does not read my ecu. I uninstall and installed ecuflash bunch of times i also downloaded the drivers few times but nothing seems to do the trick. any idea what i can do? this is really annoying. i did read few threads about not being able to hook up but none seem to help. any idea is greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Ben

which cable version are you using? At the bottom right of ecuflash it should show the cable you have plugged in. If it says "No vehicle interface" its not recognizing your cable. If it is showing your cable you may need to select your car under ECU->Select vehicle type.

Its probably a problem with your windows drivers. Download the most recent version of ecuflash from tactrix site and then uninstall the version you have and install the new one. That should install the drivers. Then try plugging the cable in again and it should recognize it. If not then additional trouble shooting will be required. What version of the cable do you have?
