Funny thing I just received the letter and two days later my car says service required ... I have an 08 with 34k and it just went . I'm waiting for a new dealership near me in Hamburg ny to take it too and see how they are once their service department is finally open and then I'll be back with an update

My appointment at the dealer got moved a couple of weeks ago because they didn't have the correct pump. They thought they did, but ended up being a pump for a Ralliart. So, tomorrow is the day. I'm taking my Evo in the morning to get it done. Im pretty excited. The issue was diagnosed almost a year ago, i've been putting it off because it was so expensive lol.

So my first pump went in 18 month - Nice New England weather.
If the replacement pump goes in another 18, would it be covered under this?

Seems like they are just replacing one faulty part with another.

I've heard back from Mitsubishi. They say I should be getting my check for the full amount I requested in a couple weeks. I was able to get mine replaced for under $1000 so I guess they were happy to pay that and not the $2000 plus quoted by the dealership.

The dealership replaced the pump on my wife's X, along with all of the pulley and belts from the other recall under warranty. I told them to not touch the tune in the car, they were ultra cool about it, and had no problem doing the work.

I have included both the dealer work order which mentions the denial of coverage by Mitsubishi as well as Mitsubishis take on warranty coverage. The dealer made it clear they were sympathetic, but that their hands were tied by Mitsubishi. Not sure how people are getting the pump replaced with a modified engine that has a tune on it.

I think it comes down to the dealership, I will have my wife pull the work order for the X , I am almost certain it is written on there that "customer requests that the ECU not be altered due to aftermarket tune". I don't see how they can deny the replacement, as in no way shape or form does any other factor go into the failure of their ****ty pump design !

Well, all I know is that my son was out $2,400 for everything. The dealer made it very clear that their hands were tied as this was a Mitsubishi decision.

Have a lab inspect the ACD once removed. If it is all corrosion failure (no stress failed parts) then MITSU should be forced to honor the warranty claim.

Have you tried sending in your receipts for a refund? They may have denied it before they released the new warranty update but I would try sending in for a refund. you never know.

Here is what to expect with a modded car, and tuned ECU.
Dealer told me that Mitsu is now making everyone coming in for this warranty work to file a technical case with Mitsu and then they will decide if it is approved or not.

So basically they will put down every non stock modification down and send it to mitsu and let them pull the trigger.
Initially I was told it was not going to happen....However I know the guy working on the cars and told me he was just going to push it through anyways..(Good for me )

This may not be the case for anyone else with modded/tuned EVOs

How is your guy pushing it through if it's up to Mitsu to make the call?
