You don't really need a turbo timer. The x has a feature where the fan will turn on after you turn off the car if temps are still high. Or just keep it running for a little before tunring it off. Everything else looks good though.

A running fan has very little impact on the turbo that is sitting behind the engine. When the car is running, it is circulating water and oil through the turbo to cool it.

I do agree with letting is run for just a bit but sometimes a timer is handy, makes people wonder why you left your car running

A turbo timer is very essential for any turbo vehicle. At times I why the manufacturer doesn't make the car with one.

My evo 8 never had one I was just carful to watch cool off time between rapin the car and shutting it of lol

But I agree with you ! They really should add in that and a factory boost gauge kinda like the srt4 and mold it into the dash with everything else. I'm not talking about a turbo gauge like the 2g eclipse I mean and actual psi mechanical gauge as a type of extra insurance incase there was every an issue.

I'm wondering if anyone has done a custom gauge install into the dash light console, kinda like using the lancer hole from the VIII / ix I'm not sure where I would put it but I'm sure there is a place.

the stock boost gauge is the single glaring omission that made me go "wtf man" when i got mine. even the mazdaspeed3 has one. a 35k car and they can't throw in a in-dash gauge, when a 26k car has one...baffling.

Turbo timers are a must for when you go with an aftermarket turbo that is only cooled by oil. X has both water and oil cooling, which cools the unit a lot faster.

So is turbo timer necessary or needed for X? It don't cost much but people say least thing you would want is oil leaking while timer kicks in squirting oil still? Anything of that nature? It's good or bad timer that is?

What's even worse is they already have the MAP sensing pressure and a color LCD screen that poorly uses the space when you don't have the MR.

The space where they *could* show a nice PSI output, is instead empty with a technical "Grid" looking background. MR's use that space to show the current gear but on GSRs it's wasted 100%.

Ill write a letter to mitsubishi suggesting they do this !! Lol jk

Back to te thread though, the car is so much different than my VIiI after driving it longer now, I dot have that "pull like a freight train " feeling, and the engine and bov are silent!! I'm so use to a throaty exhaust and a screaming blitz bov lol. I forget I'm in an evo when I'm driving it!

Haha, you will get over it. My 2g dsm was running 26psi on a gt35r with meth on a stock block, except HKS 272's with all supporting things. Yeah, that was a train and it felt nice sitting next to porches and ferraris that clog up downtown Toronto where I live. Armed with a electric, dash mounted exhaust cutout, it was a rush to intimidate whatever wanted to stare me down. ..she's gone now but it's for the best. Here's a few pics of her if anyone is curious.

4g63 has no low end, I don't care what anyone says, unless you were running the 13b snail that come on 1g auto. 14b (5spd) was already lacking the instant pick up. Mivec smooths out the power band nicely. Get it tunned and some of the train feeling will come back.

I was very happy with the stock pick up on the 94 we have here in Canada. A month ago I had the chance to use a AP with a 93 stage 2 map cobb for a day - this will definitely be my next purchase. Need to ride that warranty out.

5 years ago I would think the stocker was not bad *** enough, but now I enjoy it's balance of a dd with awd and good power/reliability.
