Burning smell from rear?

After driving on the highway today I got to work to find a burning rubber smell coming from the inside rear tires, it's not the tires that smell, I'm wondering is it possible the rear brakes are sticking? Anyone else experience this?

Are you sure it's from the tires? Check under your rear seat.

I'm having the same issue with my 2013. I purchased it new back October of 2012 and put on 18,000 miles on it so far and even in single digit weather it still smells like that. I recently noticed the smell got worse when I was driving in deep snow when the TCS was kicking in. I was only driving about 15mph. I thought it was the tires at one point but wear on both my blizzaks and stock Advans have no signs of anything. Iv checked my full stock exhaust system to see if I had a plastic bag or something under their and nothing. I'm going to be changing my pads, lines, and dot 4 brake fluid. Also throwing on a full turbo back let's see if I notice any changes.

I had this issue and turns out it was a small pin hole in gasket between engine and oil pan. Oil had blew back on exhaust.

Sucked donkey nuggets cleaning that mess up.

Very common issue... first heard on discussion in very first Evo X. Next time when this comes again, check the bottom of the spare tire compartment.

Also check the AYC fluid in the trunk.

My 2014 MR is having a burning smell as well.. Only 600miles. I'm thinking maybe because I didn't break it in still and it could just be the exhaust. But I checked under the hood smelled nothing then around the rear of the car I smelt it. Not the breaks I'm assuming it's running rich? Idk any ideas? It's my first MR lol

I use to get a nasty chemical kind of smell when going WOT in my 2012. I was never able to find out why or exactly where it was coming from. But it was definitely coming from the front of the car and I believe coming in through the vents.

I bought that 2012 brand new and treated it right. I now have a 2013 and never had that weird smell occur.

I think my burning smell is probably the clutch.
