sst issue

My 09 mr wen on s-sport mode doesn't shift to the 6th gear, 5th gear is all I c on display even when rpm reaches 9k, and it shifts normally wen on normal or sport mode, just no 6th gear on s-sport mode, let me mention this issue started happend right after I install a new exhoust system from perrin stealth cat back to agency power high flow dual exhoust! Does it dven make sense that change in exhoust system can add anything that would not allow the gear to shift on 6th? Plz guys help me, I m tensed kinda now

He's from UAE, so I figure that he did a lot better than most on here.

I'm a little confused.

The car won't shift even if you run it up to 9K rpm? Did I read that correctly?

Put exhaust back and see if your problem persist. Maybe you broke a connector or something. Lots of little sensors on these beauties man. Take your time and check over the entire install. Keep us posted.

Presuming a built motor (the 9k rpm redline reference) I might suggest you visit the shop that did the build. I suspect they know the car pretty well.

Yes, it works manualy but in auto it cries for 6th gear, not been driving since I found this issue, shes going to the doc who built her up for a complete check up, after I called them up, they said its the strangest issue on sst they have ever heard and they want to call it in for a check up, thanks for the replies experts, I will be posting soon after the issue is solved.

mine had a similar issue. i have a '10 sst. it skipped gears in normal mode but in sport / s-sport you could manually shift it into the next gear. i took it to Mitsubishi and they said it was a fairly common issue to have problems with the SST transmissions.
they ended up fixing it without having to replace the trans. they had to change out a few parts and flush the fluid. i have also had an exhaust swap but that was about 2000+ miles ago.
i would tell u what they were but the write up is in the car and its 30 degrees F and pouring rain right now lol

The car in total till date is about 66000 kms, and first all fluid change was at about 1000 kms, and then at 45000 kms only trany and rest were all on regular intervals

My problems still not stoping as today morning drive got me nightmares when I saw my check engine light on , guys how do I get the code on display?

Let me highlights that I was cruising on about 100kph and then thought of trying to check my s-sport mode if it shifts to 6th or no

I stoped the car, got my s sport mode on, and then gave it a thump, binggg!! Engine check light ON

sorry for the untimely reply, but here is what Mitsubishi replaced / repaired:
replaced the old / worn gearbox fluid and filter
replaced transfer case assembly
replaced rear diff gear oil
replaced SST fluid

also, i did not have a stock ECU code apparently, and they pinned that on me. so i also had to buy a stock ECU which was $1000.
my car was at about 37000 miles
