Lost 5th and Reverse :(

So i was driving home, stopped at a traffic light, and the shifter went completely loose. I was then only able to shift into 1st 2nd 3rd, 4th..but the gears wear weird to find...got home and couldnt reverse so I had my girl steer as I pushed the car into a parking spot. Lifted the hood and the AMS under hood shifter bushing (vertical one) was completely gone....wondering how does this happen and how bad was this for my x...since i had to drive about 10 miles to get home in 4th gear....sadness

You lost the clips and the bushing. Call AMS and get some new ones. No harm done.

hey so you said you used a key ring? I will have to do the same until new ones come in. Its the the vertical one closest to the fire wall. I have the factory bushing, how did you use the king ring to secure it?

Disregard, I figured it out. Found the retainer clip from my 9 and i'm just gonna reuse that with the stock x bushing. The parts look the same. Thanks
