Modification Regrets?
I've only had my MR for 4 months but I'm happy with my mod choices so far. Stick with the quality manufacturers and avoid the ebay cheap parts!
Happiest with the UR mudflaps and ETS intercooler piping / intake. I still have time but wish I got a clear bra for the front within the first 100 miles.

-buying 200 dollar tein S-Tech springs for my IX was a horrible horrible mistake, went back to stock and omfg im soooo much happier, i'll know for next time though for sure, bilsteins and swift spec-r's lol.
-also, wasting money on the injen intake and UICP/LICP, never even instaled the LICP because i went with ETS instead, and the damn UICP and intake were obnoxiously loud at spool and when the diverter re-circed, plus my gas mileage got even ****tier without a tune. happy as hell to be back to stock UICP and intake
-having a company clean my headlights for 30$-came out 10 times worse and they didnt tape off around the edges and scuffed the paint.
-getting my fenders rolled and having one hairline crack and buckle in ever so slightly. (ended up spending 250 to get an OEM one shipped and am going to have to paint it and put it on.)
-welding in a test pipe on stock exhaust with an o2 bung. (it worked, helped with flow and was still quiet, which i like, but i just spent too much doing it.
-not a mod, but selling my stock wheels was a mistake. but it paid for my 3" catless DC sport turbo back (that i got from two different people by chance for 170$, love it, perfect sound for me.). as well as my Megan o2 housing (50$, have yet to put on.), and mud flaps (came with the cash for the wheels) , and im happy about all those mods, so thats a plus.
so, so far ive learned, have patience and save for what is quality and you really want.
and when it comes to used exhaust pieces, why would you ever buy new lol (as long as the used one is in good shape)
so you name it, i effed it up lol, but live and learn and move forward.

'Believe it or Not' putting 'fancy' (heavy) valve stem caps on the TPMS caused cracks (leaking) and one to break when servicing...
$120 to replace one TPMS at Mr. Tire and $200+ for another TPMS & synch the new sensors at the dealership. :O
For the third (cracked) one I found a "TPMS Repair Kit' for $30 and another $25 to repair it at Eagle Tire... (did not have to synch it to fix the warning light
)

Who would've known such a simple mod could go wrong.
I'm not sure if this counts as a mod but, I got a aftermarket stereo put in my Evo. It was louder but didn't really sound that much better to me. I also didn't like how the dash-kit fit. It wasn't that bad but it didn't fit flush, and it bothered me. A friend said he didn't notice it until I pointed it out, but I noticed it.
After some research on this forum I found out I had the worst aftermarket dash kit for my car (14 Evo), the metra. I could take the look anymore and bought a better fitting dash kit off of ebay but, it still didn't fit as flush as the factory kit. I also messed up the steering wheel control programming when I disconnected the radio. I never could get it to work right again. All of the steering wheel controls don't work even if it's programed correctly anyway.
I ended up reinstalling the factory head unit, and everything looks nice and neat like before, and all the steering wheel controls work., and I'm happy now.

I regret spending the $80 dollars on one of those aluminum type fuel doors, the ones that say Lancer in them. It doesn't look as good as I'd like it to. The door barely catches the lock, so I'm always afraid of it blowing open while i'm driving down the road (though it never does), which in turn would make me look like a tool.
I'm going to take it off and just put the stock fuel door back on. /facepalm
