Question Delay between accelerator pedal and revs

Hey guys,

On my X, there is a delay when in neutral between me tapping the accelerator pedal and the rise in revs. I was just wondering if other people experience the same thing and what the reason for this is in the Evo X?

I am not having any issues with my car at all and was just curious about this...

Thanks

More like most fly by wire accelerators aren't as responsive as the good old fashioned throttle cable variety. Just takes a moment for the computer to read the throttle position and produce an appropriate response.

If you think the Evo is bad, try driving a mid 2000's era Toyota. It was so bad on those that it manifested itself as unintended acceleration at some times. Experienced it on my old Camry Solara.

a lot of times that can be from a vacuum leak or bad tune, if you have any mods?

I have basic bolt ons and a tune by RRE. I believe that the car still had this delayed pedal action even before my car was modified. But thanks for the suggestion in case something goes hay-wire in the future.

It's probably just the "computerized" response... same deal on my 08' Gsr before mods.

After putting on the basic bolt ons - throttle seemed to be a bit better but not by much.

The solution I used was Sprint Booster => super easy to install [plug-n-play] and increase response dramatically.

Thanks for that! I know that sprintbooster is more widely used in german cars but I'll have to check it out for the X too.

You can use ECUflash to change the throttle tables in your ecu to something much more responsive. I did this about a year ago and still no problems. It has much improved the throttle response delays.

Check out this thread.
