The rocks don't really hit the doors hard unless you are sliding.

In order to run gravel tires on an Evo X, the offset must be 20 or less (assuming you don't rework the rear knuckles).

In many cases, the rules do not allow side-skirts but do require mud-flaps.

With that said, I agree that mud-flaps on an Evo that never sees dirt, let alone gravel, is kind of silly. In my experience, more Scooby drivers are willing to get dirty than owners of Evos. (For example, Evos were out-numbered by Scoobies by 10:1 at Nationals in Rallycross last year; of course, that didn't stop Evos from winning every important class.)
