Slight front bumper damage, advice needed.
Slight front bumper damage, advice needed.
Hello,
The other Day I was backing up out of a parking space and my front bumper caught a curb with a piece of metal stick out of it. It basically popped off the passenger side of the bumper from the wheel well plastic. As well as the piece that connect the top corner of the bumper to the fender, I was able to take a screw driver and reattach the bumper into the wheel well. Just looking for advice as to what parts or clips I can expect to replace when I take the bumper off to investigate. These two pics show the damaged side (top), to the undamaged side (bottom). You can see the bumper is sagging under the headlight now, and the the passenger side bumper does not line up to the bumper.

actually just pop it back in. The bumper covers are designed to pop off instead of rip, so they can be clipped back in.
In the diagram below, #6 bolts to the fender, then, the top of the bumper cover snaps into that. You literally just pop it back in. If it keeps falling out, you need to just replace part #6, passenger side. It's only two 12mm bolts and the bracket is about $10

if it looks like it's sagging below the headlight, make sure this piece is popped in properly, there is a tab on the bumper cover that clicks into the headlight housing itself where indicated:

Wow thank you! That's a lot of help. Can you point me to the website where you got the diagram from,... May need to order that bracket! Thanks!
I'm going through the exact same repair right now. Car was hit while I was out one night and luckily the clear bra stopped any paint damage, but that clip was broken. I should get my part from the dealer on Monday ($16).

Yeah it's actually designed to break, instead of tearing the bumper. Same with the fender bolt, it sits inside a plastic insert that will pop out instead of bending metal. It's brilliant really.
