I used to run Valvoline full synth until my motor blew in my GTO. Been using Mobile 1 ever since.

Didn't even bother to go to the dealership for a free oil change, because I know that they will change with regular/conventional oil.
Put synthetic in and was all set.
Heck if they were going to put whatever in there for free, I would have done it. Just go home and drain it out and put your desired stuff in after! Free flush!

Also. I spend about $40 for Mobil 1 synthetic with filter. Not sure where you're getting $75 from.

Yes. IIRC lexus/toyota use valvoline. My dad's rx300 has over 160k and runs like new. I usually run valvoline in it.

Really???? Damn. That's crazy. In the past I've used castrol/valvoline/mobile (different cars and motorcycles) and have never had a problem.

Why are you guys paying so much for Mobil1. In NC you can just go to the local Wal-Mart and get any grade Mobil1 for $25. Now if you go to pepboys, autozone, etc then yah it $40. Just in case you guys never checked out Wal-Mart haha. But im sure prices are different depending on region. If your paying $40 for Mobil1 you might as well spedn that money on AMSOIL. Atleast it's a true full synthetic.

-I do Mobil1 0w-40 w/ EA Filter.

-Hey did you guys see that new oil from I think Penzoil that is made with Natural gas. I wouldn't use it but still thought it was pretty BA.

Yeah but I should say that some of the LS2s had an issue with being starved for oil so probably wasnt the brand of oil used but who the hell knows lol.

Stock internal engines must run the factory recommended fully synthetic weight engine oil.
The build engines must run heavier or a builder recommended fully synthetic weight oil.

You run a high pressure turbo engine from factory . Your turbo is oil cooled etc. You must run a high tolerance and quality engine oil.

I prefer mobil 1 fully synthetic. Never had a problem. Even in my evo rally car I am using it.

Good motor oil is a CHEAP insurance.

I've always run synthetic 5w30 in my 14 GSR. Usually Pennzoil Platinum or Ultra with zero problems. And I had good luck running the Mobil1 M1-104 filter or Mitsu filter.
