Hey guys, just wanted to share with you guys what happened to me a few hours ago.
I was pulled over in nassau county of Long Island, for anyone that knows , northern blvd and great neck for my rear FACTORY wing being an obstruction to my view. I have to have it removed and inspected or pay the fine.
After i explain to the officer that it came like this he said i dont care its an obstruction of your view. he also tacked on the another ticket for a license plate bulb out, which it was that i didnt know about.(good eye by him lol) and a another ticket for speeding saying i was doing 10 mph over 40. when i know for a fact i was doing 30. (i drive down this road every single day, same speed)
He was on the street talking to another person he pulled over when i drove by him, then .4 miles later he decides i'm speeding?

Challenge him in court apparently he is an idiot. DOT supersede's dumb ****s.

In any case, what a total muppet. File a complaint with his supervisor and if they insist, go to court. Obviously you don't have to remove a factory wing and he obviously doesn't have any proof that you were speeding. Say that his over-zealous inspection of the car, coupled with his insistence without proof that you were speeding and ignorance of the facts surrounding the car, amount to harassment.

wow that is just rediculous. Ya i deffinitly would NOT remove the spoiler. im sure when you go to the first court date they will drop it. just bring something showing thats stock. thats like saying your a pillar is an obstruction of view.
The charge related to the wing throws his credibility into question. Additionally, going from speaking to a citizen to getting into a car to pacing another car (allegedly) going 40mph in <0.5 miles is simply unrealistic.

he approaches my window, really jittery and says wow you got alot going on here! lights out, speeding, and said some other things. license reg ins. I hear light out and said, I have a light out? which one? he says yup your real license plate lamp. I hand my stuff, he goes back to his car. comes back after 15 minutes
Tells me hes also giving me a ticket for rear wing obstruction of view, i say its factory i bought the car like this, hes says i don't care, remove it or pay it. i like shake my head in disbelief, he continues to argue that it is an obstruction and it needs to be removed. At that time i was speechless. he then tells me about my light again, i say alright ill get that fixed thank you. and says drive safe and leaves.

He also said to me in the middle of that argument about the wing, "i was young once too, i know why you young kids buy cars like this"
i also feel like lucky that i wasn't pulled over for my o2 dump, testpipe v2 extreme exhaust.. yet my wing is an obstruction of view.
how does one file a complaint for harassment? I feel like any complaint would just get tossed to the side.

They can't ticket you for factory equipment.
