I did mention you and he said... and I paraphrase "yeah but he is running a HUGE tire!" Haha! He did say that I should be running my rear bar at the softest setting (currently on the hardest and love it) and adjust from there as needed...make sense to me. Anyway I hope he is right... we'll see. Thank for your help and input!
Well one thing is for sure, you're still starting off with an excellent baseline. Jason has a point on the spring rate of the tire.... if your springs are stiffer than the rate of your tire, then your damping will be done by the tire and not the spring/shocks! My setup isn't ideal for street tires, but i can make it work without fuss.

MCS has since decided to offer something off the shelf, which is nice cause I ended up making my own rear top mount and of course i'm still trying to address some squeakiness in the mounts.
Hey, so I know im asking you questions on two sites but I figured this one was more appropriate since MCS is the main topic of this thread.

So I got the MCS rear mounts. Installed everything, set ride height, corner balanced and aligned. I'm getting a slight cluncking in the rear. Any thoughts on this? Do you have any? Its a litle annoying as it feels like something is gonna break. I know it's somewhat the nature of solid mounts. You said you were getting some squeaking but are you getting any cluncking?

Have you look into Thrust sheets that fit between the spring and spring mount?

I have not but I just looked them up and I'm intrigued. If thats what will take the clunk out ill do it in a heartbeat. Sorta sucks to spend so much on a coilover only for it to clunk. :/

My MCS 1way do not clunk. Give MCS a call, I bet they will sort you out. Also, check to make sure everything is tight.

Yeah I was just about to when I got back from the alignment shop but it was already past their business hours. I'll give them a call first thing tomorrow. The two times I've called they were very helpful. I'm hoping it's something I just missed during install.

you can ride with me soon, and you will see. I am sure though the MCS you got is much better on track .

the clunking can be from a lot of things. It all depends on where the clunking is coming from. First you have to find out exactly where it is clunking. If you have someone jump on the door sill really really hard, can you hear the clunk? If so get underneath the car and try that. Mine never clunker. Also also, are you running helper or Tender Springs?

Just got off the phone with vorshlag and getting a quote for the 1 way to replace my old JRZ RS'1's. Seem like a quality coilover thats on pair with JRZ if not better.

JRZ makes a great product but I went with MCS over JRZ largely because MCS was based in the US and Lex at MCS picked up the phone when I called and was super helpful (and obviously super knowledgeable). Try calling JRZ and see how quickly they get back to you.

Never really had a problem getting a hold with JRZ. Found a good dealer in the states that rebuilds and re-valves. The RS1's are "High maintenance" thats all i will say. But they have been great over the years.

I'm gong to pull the trigger on Monday. MCS 1 Way. 700lbs Hypercoil springs square. Helper springs. Vorslag camber plates. MCS rear top hats.

I'm on RE71R. You guys think 700lbs is to stiff for "street tires". I'm running 572lbs swifts on the JRZ now.

Thanks for any input

I run 600# front /650# rear. On RE71r tires and have never felt like I needed stiffer spings. But my car only weighs ~2800lbs.

Also, get the vorhlag camber plates if you do not already have a set, they are worth it. Positive caster ftw.

Well I'm glad to report that all the clunking has magically disappeared... well sorta. Though its hard to imagine that this was the cause I did find one nut on the rear lower control arm that was a little loose. Also, I am still getting a slight clunk over larger bumps/potholes but it sounds like the helper spring collapsing/compressing - I can live with that. All in all after 3 autoXes on this suspension I am very pleased and thoroughly impressed!

Now I just gotta figure out how to adjust compression and rebound properly.
