Billet aluminum throttle pedal

Hi all,

So I was reading around the forums and found out that while (correct me if I'm wrong) the clutch and brake pedal arms are made of metal, the gas pedal is made of plastic and it breaks after some time/pressure, whether you are just daily driving, rally driving, competitive driving, going to the grocery store driving, getting on the highway driving, etc...

It seems that this problem was a big issue and was well documented, with auto blog articles, LONG threads, youtube videos, etc.

For reference:

But after all this talk, did anyone ever find/developed a solution for it? I was reading another old thread about some forum member was looking to develop something and also Buschur doing something about it.

For reference:

page 37 https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-merge-37.html

Just wanted to know if there are any updates on this matter as I would be very interested in getting the pedal swapped even if it may never break on me, just as a precaution/prevention. Any input?

Thank you in advance!

Not that any one likely cares anymore, but Mitsubishi did change the gas pedal design at some point so the pedals wouldn’t snap. Newer pedals now include a nub at the button of the pedal so that under full throttle the pedal is resting on the floor.

If you look at the pedal its an obvious crumple joint where it can fail. I have a pedal here for my 9 that I epoxy filled in that spot so it cant break as "intended".
