Seeking feedback for a story on the Evo X...
I followed the Evo's since their early inception into street cars, however, late in 2007, when I was 14, the Evo X came out. Of course at that time I did no have access to the car nor could I legally drive one. All I had was the internet and could just ogle at the reviews and drivers just put praises and praises on it. It just felt amazing watching that car go around just on a screen. And the fact that if I worked hard enough, I could eventually afford it made it such an achievable goal. Over the years, I kept following it, fast forward 7 years later, I finally managed to get my hands one. I will be brutally honest, I have not had a lot of of experience driving a lot of different sporty cars (GTI, S6, Focus ST), but when I drove this car out of the dealership, it just felt right. And later I was chucking this around like it was an RC car in empty parking lot, and it would just take it.
After parking it and getting out, I have always turned around and looked back at it while walking away. I don't know what it is, but it's always has this grasp on me.
Of course, there are all the numerous points mentioned above such as adaptability, ease of making more power, daily driver etc.
And this. (BigT)
We might think 291bhp is not a lot of power and it might not be to some. (Dont' V6 camrys have like 270 or something?) But, drive this car through some corners, I mean really drive it, and you'll quickly learn that this car feels like it has double the power.
110% accurate.
Also, how can I not mention the community. Everyone is always ready to help and provide feedback, and advice. And the builds and various projects that are on here are just amazing to spend time reading.
The more experienced members can/have added input on well this car performs in different types of motorsport scenarios, but I just wanted to add a personal bit to it from my side.
I'll probably driving my Evo for a while!

Cheers!

The EVO is like the bastard child of of the AWD Trubo tuning industry. People are scared and intrigued by it. They feel more comforatble with the Subaru STi due to it's quiet smile and comfiness to it.
I love the fact that the EVO is rare and unknown. I love it's superior technology and a near bullet proof drivetrain compared to "The Enemy". I love how I am in complete control when looking out of control.
As soon as you sit in those Recaro's you know this car means business. As soon as you turn that traction control off, press the firm clutch down, mash the shifter into gear 1 and then firmly plant your foot to the floor is when you realize....this is not your regular grocery getter. This car is serious and if you let it, it will show you how serious it is.
Thank you Mitsubishi. Thank you for giving me the power and responsibility of driving such a machine!

Can't wait to read it. I read all the posts on this thread, and every one had a little different perspective on the Evo, but all of them were true. I owned the IX and currently own the '15 X. Kush wrote, "After parking it and getting out, I have always turned around and looked back at it while walking away. I don't know what it is, but it's always has this grasp on me." This made me laugh, because I think everyone that owns or has owned our cars have done this.

I do the same. My girl friend even says "who's sexy car is that?" everytime we walk to the car

I've had mine since Feb and still get giddy when I hop in it.
