If you are hard core racer, why not. If you do this for fun, forget it. Its really up to how much they will sell you for.

In rainstorm, everybody was evacuating like a war took place. I took my Evo to leave with me, but got stuck in crazy traffic and my Evo was flooded and died.

I took me the whole breakfast to recovered from the shock that my Evo died. Afterwards I have meditated and decided to always evacuate my Evo to suburb high grounds like a paranoid when there is the first signal of flood, and I can come back and get around with a rental car or public transit in the meantime.

Anyway, OP, if I were you, I would still first look into the possibilities to fix the Evo. If there really is no way, I would want to buy an Evo that looks exactly the same.
That's good thinking. If nothing else than for the peace of mind.

Now waiting on internal team to send me their initial offer based on actual cash value.

I wouldn't, flooding like that shes too far gone. Unless you like to live with infinite electrical gremlins.

So in the end the insurance company (not sure if allowed to name them) did right by me. They paid her off in full and I even got to put some $ back in my pocket. Which immediately went to a new apartment, furniture, clothes etc.

Sadly with all the upheaval I decided not to buy another Evo at this time. Too many other areas in life need attention right now.

I sincerely appreciate everyone's sentiments, well wishes and condolences. Looking to move forward and at some point in the future pick up a used MR (since they are discontinued) to relive some glory days, as my weekend car.
