Questions on looking to buy a used evo

I'm posting on here because I have a couple questions id like to get some help on please. The evo I'm currently looking at is a 2012 white evolution gsr with 45,000 on the dash. My concerns on buying this is I know he's run it hard he's a good buddy of mine and he recently purchased a new 2015 sti but here's more about the evo. It was under warrenty and has had the motor, transmission, clutch, and a couple other things replaced on it I believe. The new motor has 8,000 miles on it, the transmission has around the same and the clutch is brand new. That being said I'm a little nervous on buying the car. The only aftermarket part on it is the air intake. There's supposedly nothing wrong with the car now and he has receipts and papers on everything that's been replaced. I've test drove the car as its my best friends and I can basically drive it whenever but I'm on a serious hunt for an evo and he's giving me a deal of a life time on it. The body is in great shape with only 1 tiny dent on the front right fender. I'm not worried about that really though. The car has the Rockford fosgate sight and sound system. All leather/carbon fiber seats. New rims and tires on it. My dads concerned with the bearings, axel, bushings and etc. I own a lift in my garage so I'm able to lift it and check everything under the car. My questions are simply after everything being said what are your opinions would I be stupid to buy this car? It's not my first turbo'd 4 cylinder but it will be my first evo so I don't know a ton about them.. But I'm not completely ignorant of the subject. What are some issues I should look into and what tends to go bad on these cars that I should take a look at. I want to take it to a garage that knows more about the car and have them look at it but I'm not sure where a good place for that would be. I do know the car hasn't been on the road for 2 years until him and I took it to have all the fluids changed. Everything's checks out okay no leaks and no signs of issues. I drove it the other day for around 70 miles no warning lights popped up on the dash. This may just be me but while I was driving the car if I wouldn't rev match it while down shifting it would give a little but noticeable jerk. I'm not 100% sure on what that could be but my friend and a couple other people told me that's just how evos are.. I just don't want to make a mistake buying this and it's destroying my wallet. My dad says no but I make my own money, I'll throw this in my dad also wouldn't let me buy a 2008 wrx hatchback instead I got stuck with a 2007 VW GTI that i paid for and well I had to have dad co-sign on it and he's a huge VW fan basically told me it was that or nothing and I've hated the GTI since the day I bought it. Front wheel drive with the dsg just isn't what I'm after.. What I got at there is my dad opinion isn't going to influence my decision. I hope to hear back from someone with there opinions though. Please look this over and try to help me out a little. Thank you

Why did everything have to be replaced?

If its through fault of him and how he drove it I would pass no matter what the price was. Most likely there will be other issues either currently or in the very near future.

What is he willing to let it go for?

You say he's your best friend... nothing will ruin a friendship like a shady deal. If you got this car and it fell apart on you, and he did nothing, how would you handle it?

Under warranty the clutch was replaced? That sounds fishy. So does the transmission as these transmissions are a beast and handle a pounding. It sounds like he's abused the hell out of it, I would RUN. I have been in the boat of buying an abused evo before and it isn't fun. Count on pouring a ton of money into it and having plenty of downtime.

What kind of deal is he offering? You say a deal of a lifetime, but it's hard for us to judge.

having all those things replaced so soon I would run. Like stated I wouldn't buy something like that especially off a friend. Nothing worse then losing a friendship possibly and taking a chance of buying a nightmare.

there really isnt anything to worry about on the drivetrain side of things....one the one hand like the others said seems like something fishy when that much stuff was replaced...on the other hand...only 8k miles on the motor/trans thats basically a new car...but at the same time how much do you really value your friendship cause even the slightest hickup with the car and his unwillingness to help could turn you guys sour...im not saying run lol im saying weigh out your options...or better yet depending on where you are in PA...have it taken to an evo shop and let them go over it with a fine tooth comb..might cost you a few hundred bucks but its worth it if you are saving thousands...

if everything was replaced under warranty and done by dealership i really dont know what the problem is?
how good of a deal are we talking about here?
im almost positive if u post the deal up, someone would ****** it from you.
everything replaced under warranty and by dealer.
sure, if he beats the heck out of it, but everything he beat majorly has been replaced by dealer which normally carries a warranty of work.
if it was replaced by some joe schmoe shop then i'd be careful sure.
everything else is typical wear and tear item that no matter what car you buy u will have to tend to.
remember your not buying a new car here, ur buying a used one. wheel bearings etc will have to be replaced sooner or later.
if your still scared, take it to a reputable EVO specific shop and have them look over.

Price plays a big factor. Is he giving you a good deal on it since hes your buddy? If yes, I say go for it. Since it leaves you some money in your pocket for repairs.

Depending what side of Pa you're in I know plenty of good shops on the western side that would take a look at it.
