Opinions on smoke in video?

Ok! Let me start off by saying I change my oil/filter religiously every 5k using 0w40. I've never noticed any amount missing by dip stick at any point between changes.

I remember a long long time ago I noticed something similar in the summer months and it's been something I've wanted to get on video or have someone watch from outside the car for a while.

I finally got an opportunity, because today I changed my brake pads/rotors and had to do the bedding procedure, so I figured I'd have the wife take a quick video and also give me feed back on what she sees.

Next time around I'll do a blackstone analysis to see if any indicators point to anything strange, as well.

Only happens on WOT when turbo spools. Be sure to put it into HD for better clarity.

I've had some oil smoke out my exhaust on a stock 2015 gsr w/ 10k miles. There was quite a bit that came out at first when I took it out of storage this spring. I use the recommended 5w30. I assume a little smoke is okay. At least you know the turbo has oil.

It doesn't look too bad in your video.

These cars can kick out a lot of smoke because of the rich afr. Are you on the stock tune?

Burning oil is not ok.

Tough to say, but it appears to be just RICH smoke. Massive smoke of the blue color can be turbo seal going. Billowing white is usually coolant being burned (head gasket). Puffs of neither and looking more like black is richness. I am running 11:1 AFR and mine does the same thing. I can post video if you want. I had a buddy film out the back because at one point I was concerned. Check your oil and coolant. If none is missing (over a time period) then that also back's it up as being FUEL.

Yep! 100% stock. 26k miles now.

Thanks. Haven't ever checked coolant level. Will do that tomorrow. Haven't ever had overheating issues (even here in the 100+ degree summers). I'll track that level over time now.

As for oil levels, I've never had any drop at all. Always measured every 1k miles in the same exact spot after sitting for a night. I'm confident at the very least it isn't oil.

I'm leaning more towards your assumption of it running rich, which is typical.

Same here. I've never noticed myself, but I've been told by friends. Not bad at all, but does do it at WOT. Checked all the fluids. Good. Inside of exhaust tips (aftermarket) are black. Like posted above, I'm going with running rich.

stock

STOCK runs VERY rich. I think 10:1 or worse. I stand by my 1st post. Appears to be a nice rich penguin killing cloud of unburned fuel.
