Evo X HPS shortram air intake

Hey guys

Anyone got one of these HPS air intake kits, looking at buying one for my X................

Any reviews? Fitment issues etc?

Looks like a good bit of kit for the money, I like the idea of the one piece intake.

Never heard of them. We have big name vendors here...they sell their own kit. ETS, MAP, STM etc.

From looking at the pictures, the HPS has a machined mount for the MAF sensor. So you would definitely need to get a tune/re-tune if you put that intake on.

The K&N and ETS are two intakes that use the stock MAF housing so don't technically need a tune to go with them.

Hi,

Did you end up going with HPS? I am thinking about getting the same one. I looked at ETS, Injen, AMS, but HPS seems to have the best reviews and easy install.

I have one at home waiting to go on. I liked the heatshield and that it retains the OE scoop for cold air. The quality is nice in person though I swapped the K&N for an AFe dry cone with a pre-filter bag to avoid using an oiled filter. I'm doing this with other mods so I'm not going to be able to report stand-alone dyno numbers for anyone.

Hi,
I actually went with HPS. Got a great deal on ebay for a new one.
Installtion took some time as I needed a 10mm extended wand for my ratchet to get in the nooks, but overall, a great addition.
It does make a swooshing sound though when I drive.....sounds good....
