Should I replace this tire as a set?

So I got a puncture. I have stock tires, and only 6500 miles on them and the car. Got the car new in October. Do you guys think I would want to replace this one as a set of two? Or could I get away with replacing just this one?

This is the tread wear. The outside of the wheel is on the right. I see a bit more wear there than the inside. Is that the crappy factory alignment I'm seeing?

And anyone think this could be patched/plugged?

That puncture looks fixable. Take it to Discount tire and get it patched.

I work at just tires and we would not fix it from the looks of it, depends what the inside looks like. Gash usually is a deal breaker, May be able to get away with multiple plugs but thats just dumb.

It was some sort of a flattened cylinder metal, with a plastic straw on the inside and some dried up stuff inside. Maybe some home building caulking gun.

But it didn't seem to make a big hole. I could barely fit a plug file through it, so I decided to plug it. I'll put 50-60psi in it and leave it overnight on my balcony, see if it holds air.

I definitely wouldn't double up on plugs. But I've used them many times on my motorcycles without any failure. Will see how it works on the car tire.

But how does my wear look? The outside seems a lot more worn than the inside, which looks almost new. Is it the alignment?

Tire Rack can shave a replacement down to the same tread depth (as can some local shops)

Otherwise it's all four

A new oem tire is $400 + shaving is $30, plus shipping and install. Said and done, you're close to $500. Just get a new set of tires...

Cotton plugs don't work in radial tires. They're for bias ply tires. I would not run that tire with the cotton plug in it.
