Evo X - Road to 500HP

Hello all,

I recently purchased a 2008 GSR. It has some modifications to it and was dyno'd and tuned at 382HP and 367FPT. My goal is to get 500hp with room for higher in the future my question is what are the next few steps or.mods I need to do to reach my goal. Below I listed all the mods currently done to it.




Modifications:
-Fully Built GSC Head
-Driven Fab Billet MIVEC Exhaust Cam Housing
-MAPerformance Tubular Manifold
-ETS 4in Intercooler
-ETS UICP
-ETS LICP
-ETS Intake
-Grimmspeed EBC (Electric Boost Control)
-ETS Open Dump Downpipe
-ETS HFC (High Flow Cat w/AEM Wideband)
-ETS Midpipe No Resonator
-ETS Extreme Exhaust

Fuel:
-Injector Dynamic 1300cc
-ASNU FP330E E85 Compatible Fuel Pump

Drivetrain:
-Exedy SD Twin Disk clutch (standard duty pressure plate)
-ACT Monoloc Collar
-AMS Clutch Master Cylinder
-TWM Full Shifter Cage w/ Short Shifter
-TWM Shifter Cable Bushings
-TWM Gate Selector Bushing
-Radium Auto Clutch Fork Stopper

What turbo is recommended for this application? I'm brand new into the boosted community and haven't figured out what brands are good, what the numbers mean ECT ECT.

You could check out my build. Its an MR so #s are a little low compared to a GSR.

+1 vote for gen2 5558. If your wanting to keep the manifold you have I would go for a gtx3571r or more likely the gtx3576r if you want room. You're probably are going to want to lose that high flow cat as well.

My MAP V-band with PTE 5858 made an easy 500whp without even trying on E65 and only 22-23psi.

It made 560 at 25-26psi.

Your car would easily make 500whp on pump gas.

Yes since we run our cars either on the track or Mexico exclusively
I tuned my car with a 200 cell, 100 cell and test pipe without any other changes for the most part. The no cat allowed much much more timing and got rid of knock completely!

The EFR7163 turbo kits will get you 500-520 whp even on a mustang dyno with E85 and depending if you went with a twin scroll or open scroll setup the spool/boost response wouldn't be far off an MHI-18k turbo.
