bulletproof racing double pumper install

Hey guys im writing this to ask you guys for my buddy who has an evo x. So the fuel hanger install is pretty straight forward. What i want to know is with the relay box thats included. One side of the relay box theres a harness that plugs into the fuel hanger. The other side has a red wire which should be power wire and a grey wire which i figure its ground. Now, how do you guys install this? I was told most guys just put the relay box under the seat and run the wires from there and a vaccuum line from the manifold to it. The battery in the evo x is in the back. The red power wire is not long enough to reach the battery from under the seat. I can always extend the wire but i dont want to do that. I was thinking maybe its supposed to go to fuse box but still not long enough. How have you guys installed this?

Just extend the wire.. Use a quality bare crimp butt connector, put heat shrink over, done. It comes with out a connector on the end for a reason.

I wonder how this works. Seems like it's constant battery power to the pump.

I love the execution on this! No cutting the factory harness! Though, I do have to wonder why the ground is smaller than the power wire.
It looks like you feed the relay box with constant power and the factory harness is still used for fuel level, sensors, and to trigger the relay box for the main pump, with a pressure sensor to switch the second pump on as well.
You're going to want a fuse near where that red cable connects to the battery to be safe. The quality looks top-notch though! Please report back after you get it installed.

I run one of these its pretty simple. My red wire did reach my battery I had to use a car audio type fitting on the post and hooked straight up to that. I did do under the drivers seat and grounded to the seat bolt. Now what you could have done is ask them for ecu control. This would have eliminated the boost line coming from the engine bay. But basically its power and ground and boost source. I am not sure about where you would go through the firewall on the x but the 8 you can go though towards the middle of the firewall there is a grommet there.

it uses the stock wiring to run power to the pump like you would on the stock stuff. It then uses the plug they supply to get power to the secondary pump as needed through the relays. Basically all it uses is the signal wire from stock plug to let the pumps know when to turn on, then uses the boost to a hobbs type switch to make the second one work. Relay box is pretty simple one controls the first pump second one is activated by boost or ecu depending on what configuration you use.

Your correct they told me I didn't need to fuse it but to just run it off the battery and go.

did you have any issues with the hanger leaking fuel?

No. If you swapped out the fittings in the hanger you need to use orb fittings with an o-ring on them. The only issue I had leaking was I broke a fitting on the inside going to my fuel filter. Other then that no reported leaks other then that.

And to answer your question before you edited no, I don't run a pressure sensor being my Haltech controls both pumps. I had Bp wire it that way being I don't trust hobb switch kinda deals. He just ran a bulkead fitting with a secondary wire out of that hole instead of the pressure switch.

haha ty for that I was going to ask you about that but decided to delete. Are you located in Vegas? How did have bp do the wiring? I’m running a nrg ops flex fuel kit along with it that’s the reason why I was looking at options for that pressure sensor. I am planning on getting haltech or motec in the near future so that’s not in the plans at the moment.

No I am in Michigan. I just emailed BP and asked if they could wire the pumps up so I can have my Haltech control both pumps instead of the pressure switch. Being I already ordered my pump I sent it back to them and they rewired it for me and sent it back then I followed the directions he gave me and selected an out put for the wire they added to the Haltech and done.
