Radar direct wire install help

I am installing my radar detector using a direct wire so I dont have to use the one from the cig lighter. I need help on where to splice the wire so it gets constant power after I turn the car on. Anyone with a wire diagram and some help I would appreciate it. I need the wire to be somewhere on the passenger side under the glove box. If you have pictures of the wire and location it would help me a lot. Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't splice...just run the wire down to the fuse box and use a fuse tap; I did it on mine and it has worked great. I ran the wire across the head liner and then down the a pillar which opens up right above the fuse box.

Aye, Mount your radar detector by your rear-vier mirror, run the wire behind it, tuck it behind the headliner, run down through a pillar, along door jamb, into drivers fusebox, then purchase a fuse tap (search an automotive parts store) and tap in, DONE, then when you sell the car, you dont have to fix anything. SEARCH, there is a thread of someone who did exactly this.

Hard-wired my 8500 tonight. Took me 5 minutes. I have the radar detector suctioned on the left side of the windshield. The wire is tucked in the A-pillar, down to the fuse box area. The ground is mounted to a 12mm bolt inside the dash area near the fuse box, and the power source is just fuse tapped it. Took 5 minutes. Got the hard wire from ebay for 7 bucks shipped to my door.

Yes it does...there is a small plastic strap that was kind of a pain to get off, but once you get past that it comes right off. There is a nice size hole that you can feed the wire down right in front of the fuse box.

mini fuse #13 is the cig lighter/acc fuse. it's in the minifuse compartment in the cabin.

if you go to the third row from the bottom (or forth row down), it's the one all the way to the right. should be a blue 15 amp fuse.

tap into that with a bussman and you should be set.

I drilled small holes underneath my rearview mirror and tap onto the light/dome switch.. to turn it on i have to tap the dome light which i removed the bulb and tap again to turn off... I forgot to turn it off once and radar just kept blinking.. I def. have to fix it..
