I'm not sure where to post this, so please feel free to move as needed.
I want to switch my Evo X to flexfuel, so I'm looking at a fuel system upgrade. MAPerformance has a couple of kits that look good, but I don't know if they'll plug together as expected and work with the Ethanol content sensor as expected. Can anyone tell me if this should be mostly plug-and-play, or will I need additional parts? My car has an 18K turbo.
If you use a Aeromotive or ASNU 340LPH drop in filter you don't need the inline filters listed above as those pumps retain the OEM fuel pump housing filter. If you DO want/need an inline filter, it's pretty easy to make your own. I created the below years ago. I don't think Radium sells the hoses anymore but you can find them elsewhere.

Don't need AFPR or upgraded fuel rail. I use OEM FPR and OEM Fuel Rail on my build with two pumps, a surge tank and 600+whp.
There are some companies that make Evo X specific full plug and play Ethanol sensor units:
Thank you for the info. Even though I don't NEED the AFPR and fuel rail, I have to admit the bling makes me want them anyway, so any issues running those kits? I do like the Exigent ethanol setup, I may end up getting that instead of the ECA-2.
As for the fuel pumps, I'm a little torn. If in the future I do end up going with a 5558 Get 2 on E85, would the 340 pumps still keep up? The Walbro 450 kit seems good to go, so that's why I'm leaning towards it. One and done, no?
The prices of all those kits are in my budget, I kinda like the peace of mind of having a proven solution. But even though those kits work independently, I just don't know if they work together.
Oh, and good news, sounds like English Racing can still tune me remotely after I install everything. That makes me happy.
If your plan is to eventually go 5558 and E85 then just copy my setup.
1700cc
450/525 pump in radium hanger or that + Radium surge tank if you track the car
fuel pump controller (I use a torqbyte but can go cheaper if you don’t need/want all that control)

I think it's pretty unlikely I'll go that route, but I was just curious. I'll call up English in the next day or two and get their take.

To me, it's about more points of possible failure. Also, make sure you get a fuel pulse damper on the rail if you do go aftermarket fuel rail.

That's a valid point, I'll have to think about that. As for the fuel pulse dampner, I though the fuel pressure regulator equalizes the fuel pressure before it gets to the injectors, so that a dampner isn't needed? Or do I understand that incorrectly?
Not trying to **** on any cornflakes... But those JEGS filters and pretty much all the copy design are absolute garbage filters. They are a nickel sized disc mesh, that's it. There isn't any amount of filter area. Now I know Bryan is the type and has reported that he removes and cleans his, but I wouldn't count on the average joe doing that on a schedule. I actually bought the exact one (JEGS) pictured and after opening it up and seeing what was in it, I ended up mounting it on my LAWN MOWER. That's where it belongs.

Yea you are right, I keep an eye on them. I actually have a nice Radium fuel filter kit that has been sitting in a box for years that I haven't installed yet. Probably will after the move!
