i'd hate to say this. but i hope that evo doesn't come over the the US lol that thing is ugly... why change something that is already great.. i'd understand some interior changes like seats, and quality of it. but making the outside look like that.. i mean come on really... my personal opinon is the exterior of the evo VIII should stay and they shoudl really redo the interior... oh obviously give it jdm tails too lol

Ok we all agree that everyone will think of it as ugly, I do have a question though, does anyone know anything about that engine? Will it be possible to transplant that engine to the Evo 8, It is probably too soon to be asking this but I dont know if that engine has been talked about in more depth before or not. If it has how much better then the current 4g63 is it? And why? I am just curious thats all, unfortunatly I have waited long enough and will stick with the MR. Hrmm anyone know if it will be a 6 or 5 speed? Guesses?

 

I agree with underdog. The SRT look ain't cutting it. The current body style is great sure it can use some improvements but that seems waaaaaay to ugly looking for an EVO.

 

Naaah, not any time soon. On Auto line Detroit, they said Mitsubishi will stop selling the Diamonte, Montero Sport, both this year. And stop selling the Montero next year, Do you think they have funds to keep redesigning the Lancer again !

I wonder if that Evo is going to be coming with the new world engine they had nothing to do with developing. Read some conjecture about that...Let's hope not.

 

its uglier, but probably improved greatly on the aerodynamics of it... no flat areas anywhere for drag... long as those front vents arent filled with fake plastic mesh and it has some kinda underbody guides to improve flow!

I kind of like it. The front is busy, but so is the evo 8. I did'nt like the evo 8 in pictures until i saw it in person. I'm hoping the same is true for this one.

 

I saw that article in the latest Automobile Magazine. Definatelly looks like an SRT-4. WTF are they thinking...

If it comes out looking like that in 3 years, our Evo 8's will be going UP in value solely because they dont look like ASH!
