I really don't think the Evos looks are it's major selling point.

But gentlemen and lovely ladies alike.. Get ready, when the next evos come and out perform our evos in everything. Fragile Egos will be shattered. Composure lost.... All we can do is try to save face, stab and pick with our only weapon.... subjectivity!

So in the end, if we're still around and enough of these will have been seen on the road and probably been deemed a label de hotness. We will buy our cars, and have a new enemy just being drawn out in some car manufacturer's design room. Thus the battle shall not end.

Definitely Daewoo. Hyundai is aiming to be in the top 5 for US sales by 2010.

Again, the article states that the IX will be here as an '06 model next fall. Considering how long the VIII has been out (3 model years is a long time for an Evo when you think about it), it's not surprising. So that means the IX will be an '06 and '07, with the X being an '08 model. That's what... 10 iterations in 15 years? One helluva production cycle.

I'll also say this -- I didn't exactly order my MR for the looks. I'm not a fan of the boy racer styling, even if some of it is functional, and the interior is average at best for econoboxes with Toyota, Honda, and Mazda probably the front-runners nowadays. I got it for out-of-the-box performance, and nothing more.

So if the X had a MIVEC mill that seemed reliable, and pushed out 330HP and a boatload of torque with a better setup and tranny than the MR -- I'd consider it or an XI. Looks be damned, these cars are all about handling, acceleration, and braking, and that's all I expect to pay for.

I still don't see how the Evo 10 could be out that soon... its already (model year) 2005 and there isn't even any word on the Evo9 and that would have to hit this next year then the Evo 10 the following year.. why would they have the Evo 8 for 3 years (unchanged mostly) then only have evo 9 for 1 year then move straight to Evo 10 doesn't seem like a very good way to market a line...

As far as looks at first I hated it but this is about the 15th time Ive seen pics posted of it and its startin to grow on me... Still think it needs a bit of refinement but I see the potencial.

 

Well i think that all of you guys are crazy, i like it because it doesnt look much like the regular lancer, like the evo 8 does.

 

It may be out in Japan in 2007 but probably not here. Think of how long ago the MR came out over there.
