I will choose the DSG, because I will be faster. Watch my tail lights you people with your primitive manually operated transmissions. Watch me shift effortlessly while you guys struggle with your slow gearboxes.

The problem is not it will break! The problem is it will ruin you ugrades ,untill you tune it.And i'm sure it will cost as much as a Ecu tune. So go figure modds+ ECU+ Tranny controll tuning. Also it have to syncronized with everything thanks for the SAYC. Double clutch ,great! But made for the factory HP -TQ...Means will over write or loose control if get more hp or tq. How much will be the ugrade? I think we can forget the good old times, when we talk about it $ vs HP the EVO is the best. Besides the fact, its going to take a while, when somebody will have PRUVEN good tranny computer tune. And who will be the first 100 or who knows, test one ? You want to be?

Outstanding points Rob..

"SLOW PRIMITIVE GEAR BOXES" to whoever said that.. is an idiot.. where is the driver factor involved when all you do is mash the gas... or just shift cuz you have to and not feel a damn thing of excitement.. as all you do is hit some switches around.. I rather bang gears and race and loose knowing I did my best to shift.. and not blame my opponent for mashing the gas b4 me.. or blame my parts.

I don't give a crap how long it will take for someone to figure out the Evo X out.I have all the patience in the universe.Ha ha ha! I will gladly volunteer for testing and use my money to help out research and development. If it's going to cost me more money to modify my car, than so be it.

How many times have people said, "Oh I missed a shift!" or "I wouldve won but I couldnt get into second!"

DSG makes that go bye bye.. At least I hope it will..

No concrete information as of yet. We all have to wait until it's out.

DSG is lame IMO if you want to push buttons go play a video game, its a lot cheaper than a new car

F1 cars have transmissions like these. WRC cars have transmissions that shift up with a paddle shifter and the shift down function is automatic. The Buggati Veyron has DSG. The Ferrari Enzo has an AMT transmission with paddle shifters. A good amount of other supercars have AMTs or sequential automatics, because they are faster. Period. You guys that are complaining about DSG just need to shut the hell up. It is better period, if it's properly tuned and built. The Evolution is about change and evolving to a faster state of being.

Stop living in the slow past. Change can sometimes be good.

So from mitsu's direct website

Then click Prototype X and youll see their video sayig specifically that they will offer stickshift

Seriously every other hater thread explains how crappy the new system is but doesn't ahve to get it
I personally don't have a problem with the new DSG transmission, but the transmission has a problem with mods.

According to the April issue of Sport Compact Car (the one with the Evo X on the cover) They explain how the new DSG cannot handle even the slightest bit of power increase with out a complete reprogram; and reprogramming the system is really hard to crack and tune. I'm sure the new DSG will be faster than a conventional style transmission but when mods are taken into consideration the DSG might be a big problem.

This new system might only be good for people who want to leave the car stock or people who can't drive stick (ie stall all of the time).

Just my 2 cents
- Erik
