+1... And it's THEIR weak tranny. I don't mean to come on here and diss people's grammar / spelling, I'm just a little confused how people who don't seem like they should've passed the 2nd grade are in these cars.

Comprehension owns every single person in this thread. It has a 6 speed DSG or a 5 speed manual. The same 5 speed that has been proven time and time again.

I haven't had any issues w/ my 6-speed at all. I don't think it's weak either. It shifts smooth as hell and especially smooth when the New England weather is above freezing. I don't get why the current MR tranny is considered weak? Isn't it the same gearing as the 5-speed besides 6th gear?

How sure are you that this thing will be the same heh..? don't come on here just guesstimating BS.. nobody knows for sure. I hope this tranny is engineering a whole lot better and maybe just become an option for us with an MR to swap to this tranny..

The 350Z has had 6MT available from the gecko, but the ones found in the 06 and above have tend to hold more power.. and yet many think is the same.. Hopefully this is the case with the X's tranny.

Ya know, I heard this about 5 months ago.. I'm reading all these DSG hate threads thinking to myself "Didn't Mits say that they'd offer a 5 speed too?" Being that nobody else posted it before on the DSG hate threads, I figured I was having some strange dream when I learned that information.. Oh well, at least I know I'm not crazy anymore..

I ran into a Volks guy the other day with a Golf that had the DSG. He said he autocrosses it all the time, and that he was an SCCA instructor.. I believed him considering what the golf looked like and how he was describing many things about different tracks and such.. Also, you know when you talk to some people and you can tell that they're talkin out their ***.. This guy clearly knew what he was talkin about.. Well, he stated that he was completely in love with the DSG cause it can hold the revs in any gear, and shifting is stooopid fast.. Just figured I'd share that with you..

Not only does the 6 speed break, but even the five speed has nightmares with synchro's.. Wouldn't that make them BOTH weak?

Smaller wheels and no slotted rotors. It was pretty obvious the 20s and the slotted rotors were not going to make production
