As of now the final production model will have it's worldwide debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in Sept. 07. Then you will see it again at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show. in Oct. 07

The next Tokyo Auto Salon won't be until Jan of 2008, and that's where we're gonna see what the Japanese tuners are doing with the Evo X in terms of aero kits, wheels, performance etc.

did you actually read the evo X test article? how about the Tranny? it will destroy all your upgrade because it have direct link to the ecu... so you have to over write the ecu and the tranny computer.. and the S-AWC...
"the stock power determines the amount of power each clutch can transfer withouth slipping, clutch engamenttiming and gear overlap. With added power, everything will start falling out of sync."
SCC Magazine.

It is going to be a headache to tune the new X.

Just google it.

Pound for pound, aluminum is four times stronger than steel. It has greater tensility (the greatest longitudinal stress a substance can bear without tearing apart) and yield (how much stress a material can tolerate before permanently deforming).

Apparently in a crash, aluminum absorbs two times the energy compared to steel.

Aluminum can replace iron and steel in automobiles with weight savings of 45 to 50 percent with increasing performance and no safety loss.

So i figured id start a thread to find out all the good about the X

1. The new block is going to be perfectly square, as opposed to under our current 4g63 which is under square, the advantage? the engine will be more free revving.

2. It will stock come with dual exit exhausts. The advantage? Lets say it is rated at 320 hp from the factory, if you put an aftermarket single exhaust on, it should free up more power than it freed up on the viii/ix's. The disadvantage is the rear bumper will look out of place with a single exit exhaust.

3. The car will make more power, with less boost. The advantage? You will be able to turn up the boost and make more power than on the ix/viii, with a simple boost controller, don't be surprised to see a bunch of ten second stock turbo evo x's, with all the supporting mods of course

4. Since the car will be built to rev higher, it will hopefully be a lot more fun to drive.

5. CVT- i know i said it, the only reason it is on this list is because if this is your only car and you dont plan to mod much, this could be a very good choice, especially for commuters.

6.It looks very, very good. Anyone who doesn't think so will change their minds once they see it in person.

7. The interior looks great in the concept, specifically it kicks the crap out of the horrifically outdated gauges in my IX.

8. Like the rotors and rims!!!

I will update this post as people give me new things to add, again this is just my opinion so if you disagree, let me hear all your thoughts
Wow, lots of speculation!!!! In response to this here are my thoughts on your posts by the number you listed them:
1) and 4) where did you read about how free revving it will be or is that speculation based on the block design? Did Mitsu release that info? If so, please post a link to it
3) Has Mitsu released specs regarding the psi of boost the X will be running? I havent read any specs like that- again, if you got a link to where you read that I'd love to check it out
8) as far as I know the rims you see on the concept are 20" and the real X will be fitted with 18"s... any link available to a production X where we can see the actual rims/brakes?
just want to see solid officially released info- there is too much speculation already about the X and not enough solid info

I was not questioning its structural integrety. I was only questioning whether or not it could withstand warp due to heat at high boost.

Not to insult you, just restating my intention.

No Evo X production pics yet, wait till Sept, but for now these are the closest test mules.

Wheels are 18's and it has real production headlamps. What does it say on the wheels, SSR?

The styling on it will grow on me, but I still won't buy one. Maybe as a DD one day. Like I said, I'll wait for the XII.
