Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
DCX no longer owns stock in MMC. Far as production, they do share GEMA engines.
Maybe not on paper and in raw numbers, but haven't they always been considered pretty close in performance and aftermarket tunability in Japan? I don't expect Mitsu to just step aside and let Nissan take the crown in the US market, especially when they've got a headstart here.

Negative, ghostrider!
Try heel-toeing your accel pedal while you're holding the brake pedal down. Let off the clutch to "power-brake" as you speak of and see how well it works.
That will be effectively what the Automated Manual transmission is doing.
Without a specific launch-control parameter, your AMT is letting out the clutch as soon as you start pressing down the accel pedal.

When I say American Influence, I am talking about American design (engineering). American engineers have managed to take Mitsubishi's incredible previous design and screw everything up, and completely destroy what the Mitsubishi Evolution was all about (performance). Subaru doesn't have this problem because they are not owned by an American company like Mitsubishi is. Nissan doesn't have this problem because they are not owned either. Mitsubishi probably didn't want Daimler Chrysler to interfere with their beloved Evolution design, however Chrysler was interested in the design and all the hype this car has generated. They couldn't resist. Now what do we have? A bloated and heavy, non performance oriented, automatic transmission having, PIECE OF ****. This is the beginning of the end for Mitsubishi performance. The only performance car Mitsubishi even has right now IS THE EVO, and now it won't even be able to compete with its arch enemy, the Subaru STI. Sorry for the rant.
Oh my goodness another whiner. IT WILL HAVE A MANUAL OPTION! READ! It will be totally moronic if they just offer DSG, which is not a regular slushbox with a torque converter. Look at this link about DSG/SMT.http://auto.howstuffworks.com/dual-c...ansmission.htm
