go away from front and rear independent suspension, especailly on the Evo? What are they going to put back there, Leaf Springs and Drum brakes????
You know when I saw the Concept X I was really impressed with it. But this new car looks really watered down compared to it. It's not ugly, but it's not good looking either. The rear fenders remind me of the STi. I can't say I like it. It's making me want to take my money elsewhere. I know it may not be all about looks, however, there are other cars that can perform well and look good.

Not being able to keep the car in boost between shifts is what will slow the manual box down and probably have worse numbers than the AMT
Saturn Sky Redline(turbo) is .5 s quicker 0-60 with the automatic gear box rather than the shifter

I've always really loved the Mitsubishi Evolution and DSM's (4G63 power), but looking at how things are turning out, I might be saying goodbye to future Mitsubishi performance. RIP Mitsubishi Evo! RIP 4G63! To hell with the Daimler Chrysler Evolution X! Oh well...at least Subaru still has their **** together (no dumbed down American influence)...
STi EJ257 - 2.5 H4 Semi closed deck aluminum block motor developed for the US market - No dumbed down American influence there.
4G63 - 2.0 I4 closed deck cast iron block same as in the Japanese Evo's
4B11 - 2.0 I4 open deck aluminum block presumably same as in the Japanese Evo X.

the evo x is pretty much leaning more towards the luxury side (imho) and i thought about something else. heres some food for thought:
*edit* my definition of luxury may not be the same as yours, but to me, a navigation system, climate control, cruise control, and other creature comforts means luxury. maybe not to you but for me, im perfectly fine without any of those.
the real question is how are AFTERMARKET COMPANIES going to work around the car. i feel that the evo is becoming more luxurious and the looks seem much more milder. (i love the evo because of the sharp healdights, sharp lines and protruding fenders, etc.) everything looks SO aggresive on the 8 (sorry the 9 front bumpers look a lil softer to me) and when i see the 10, i see a tsx/is350.
lots of japanese sedans are making tall trunk/rear quarters. i mean look at the entire lexus line up. they're trunks are extremely tall!
anyways to summarize post, if the aftermarket is gonna be great for this car (new engine so new product development/research, and much more) then this car might have a chance. the evo's aftermarket (4g63) lineup is HUGE and thats one reason that led me to buy this car. lets pray that the aftermarket for the evo x will be a flourishing one as well. i bet its gonna be more expensive just because everything will be a prototype for it. (well except for bolt ons..)

the interior blows away anything from the past...
the VIII's interior was horribly slapped together, and a wasteland of cheap plastic...
i mean the gauge lights were amber and the radio was green...? WTF is up with that...?
