Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
thank you. i agree the title of the thread and the question were worth a sarcastic chuckle.....but honestly i didn't think anyone would get so worked up about it.
Yeah, I noticed that after. However, I standby my replies and would post them again in a heartbeat. And, no, I'm not "looking for trouble." Really, this question is so newbie-like and it surprised me that an "evolved member" posted it. A little search would've retrieved your answer multiple times.
Keep in mind, i still have my VIII. which isn't going anywhere. and my DD now is an Xterra.
Do i want to sell my Xterra and get the evo X for a daily driver? yes
do i need another performance car for my Daily driver? no
Do i need to put more emphasis on little amenities that i need for a daily driver? Yes i do.....and for my daily driver, i use cruise control every day of the week.
If i was buying my first evo as the X, then hell no. Cruise control wouldn't mean s_it to me. Hell, it didn't on my 03 or 05 evo.
but the car will be used for other purposes....ie business, travel, other.
Plus, when the wife says to me "You want another Evo!!!???, They don't even have cruise control!!??"
I can point my finger and say "Yes it does"
Ok, probably going to get lots of crap for this. but i don't care. I'm asking this because if i ever got a X it would be for my daily driver.
With that said. Does anyone know if the X is going to have Cruise Control?
cause if it doesn't, that'll probably be the breaker in my decision to get this car.
let the flaming begin.

Maybe I'm over-reacting, maybe not. When Chrysler gets involved with anything that I like, I am not too happy about it. American engineers tend to botch things up, that is why I love Japanese designed cars. The DSM's were great cars, however they had terrible reliability and terrible handling (Thanks again to Chrysler!). I just hope they didn't do the same thing to the Evo X chassis.
i agree totally, if chrysler mess all up then this evo fan has been come a WRX fan and i am sure at list 50% evo owner will change there mind too if mitsubishi made that wrong move, yes they are trying to get more people from like the bmw and audi but at the same time is a trade off...
so the big question is about prices, leliability, weight , performce and handling....
handling is the evo top number 1 thing
they can't mess it up on that but prices and leliabilty and weight
o they can cause they team up with chrysler

Maybe just a little. I just don't have any faith in American production or design. Take a look at the US performance car offerings...looks pretty bleak doesn't it? The Mustang uses a solid axle rear still and its year 2007. What production performance cars does Chrysler even produce right now? Viper? Hmmm yeah thats about it...oh wait theres that PT Cruiser turbo, SRT-4, Charger, Magnum, and Crossfire! Awesome, they all seem to suck really badly!

I've driven both. If u put me in front of one of each stock i'd probably take the Skyline Just on principle. But if it were at a track. EVO HANDS DOWN.Any replies? God i missed this message board. I NEED A NEW EVO. WHO IS SELLING AN MR?
Yea thats true. But y introduce a car to us that starts out in the Mid to high 20's range. Well Low to mid 30's actually and then raise it. Kinda makes u think they want to screw their customers. It should be the same price as the VIII and IX. IMO
Cruise control would be great for preventing unintentional speeding on road trips. IDK how many times we've taken my car to my in laws, 3 and a half hour drive mostly through the mountains and I find myself progressively going faster and faster without realizing it. I'll be driving along, notice traffic in the right lane seems to be especially slow, look down and I'll be damned if I'm not doing 90 through the twisties.
Cruise would be nice for that.
