Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
Just wanted too throw this out there. Rumor has is that the new WRX will have 330 hp, Mitsubishi will have to compete with the Evo X. I'll be excited if we get that hp or more from the factory.

Perhaps its one of those things that once I see it and get used to it in person I could change my mind, but for now the yellow concept drawing reminds me of a Celica on crack.

Grrr. I'm torn. Buy an Evo IX now, whose body style I like, or wait for the Evo X who's body style I like too, but less than the IX. The interior on the X is killing me too, I hope it stays with it's name of Concept-X and is going to be redone.
Then again the Skyline is looking nice too.
Ahhh decisions.

If you look at a front Evo caliper, there's a balance bar connecting the left/right side of the caliper's internal fluid reservoir. The ABS unit should have a proportioning valve built-in which does the job of adjusting the front/rear bias, but you wouldn't see it externally and AFIK, it's not adjustable. Newer cars (and probably the Evo X) perform brake bias electronically and actively depending on the situation and traction. Typically, fronts wear more quickly than rears as that's where most of the weight transfer goes. I have just the opposite problem on my Evo in that the rear pads are wearing faster than the fronts by a considerable margin. I've heard this is caused by gentle braking applications which relies on the rears more than the fronts. Not sure how it's possible unless there's active brake distribution control. Maybe just a byproduct of AWD? I don't track the car in any way, shape or form so the only opportunity to slam on the brakes is when granny pulls her Grand Marquis out in front of me unexpectedly, LOL. I'm approaching 30K and the rear pads are just about gone.
Check out the comparision of the Evo 9 hardware to the Evo X:
