Zeitronix Help....

I posted this in the evo 9 how-to requests section but figured this would get better hits...

Can anybody help me clarify some wires?

I have my old zeitronix from my IX that I want to install into my 10.

can someone help me translate the EVO X pinouts for the corresponding 5 wires to tap? For some reason, I am having trouble distinguishing the verbage on the X wiring... ie: TPS main, TPS sub, etc.. In addition, I dont see sensor EARTH nor TACHOMETER....

So far, this is what I have come up with:

red: Pin 82 Power supply
Black: Pin 81 ECM Ground
Gray: Pin 10 Throttle Position Sensor (Main)
Green: ???
Brown: ??? maybe PIN 93? ECM Ground...

Please someone verify and/or clarify.

Greatly appreciated!

Here is the WIRING pinout from RRE for referrence!

Are you splicing the wires, or using a harness? Ill take a look at the pin outs tonight.

I will not be using a harness since no boomslangs are available as of yet. I also dont like the fact that the ECM ECU is now in the engine bay.. which means more wires to route back through the firewall... ugh...

Ill probably quick-tap those suckers with some hi-quality taps.... any help is greatly appreciated!

PS. I just read the zeitronix install instructions... and green can go to tachometer or the "low voltage" side of ignition coil... I have NO IDEA what that means.

Well, we have 4 ignition coils, so you dont want to use that, unless it compensates for it, which most devices do. I havent hooked up my Zeitronix yet, not sure I even will.

I am a bit concerned about splicing into the wires when they are in the engine bay, since you will be exposing the wires to the elements, which could cause premature rusting etc. I have the service manual at home, so i will see if I can trace the wires to a more usable location.

One other thing to remember, there are multiple PCM units on the car. If I recall correctly, the S-AWC ECU has the tach and speed outputs.

Connect the Zt-2 RPM input green wire to the one of the coil drivers (pin 4). You can adjust cylinder number in the ZDL software to compensate for missing tach pulses.
Do not need to connect the brown wire as long as you have a good solid ground to the ECU ground. Use 18 gauge wire for the black wire ground if you need to extend it to the engine bay.
Use quick disconnect for a start. Solder later.
As always be very careful. The Zt-2 inputs are well protected from miswiring but the ECU not always is. Do not short anything at the ECU. There is no reset button on the hardware electronics

awesome!! thanks for the input Zeitronix! what better advise than from the product makers themselves!

Do the rest of these look correct to you guys? (specifically gray to pin 10)
and would I be able to use PIN 93 for the brown wire? Looks like theres two ECM grounds... one at 93 and one at 81

thanks in advance!

red: Pin 82 Power supply
Black: Pin 81 ECM Ground
Gray: Pin 10 Throttle Position Sensor (Main)
Green: Pin 4 No. 1 ignition coil
Brown: ??? maybe PIN 93? ECM Ground...

heres the diagram again....
