help with headlight painting

help with headlight painting

ive seen the few other threads about painting the lights..ive put the oven to 200degrees..for about a minute and a half to heat the light up. pulled it out..and it doesnt budge. whats the best way to get the housing off? tips or tricks? i have a flathead screwdriver im using to try and pry it but i dont want to crack the plastic or damage it at all. please help!

Its gonna take more then a minute and a half, when I did mine I let the oven heat up to 200 then put the headlight in, then turn the oven off and let them sit in there for about 10 mins.

should it be fairly easy to seperate or will some prying still be needed?

23-25 min @ 200F. 200 is not that hot. I did mine for 25 minutes each. Don't let them sit, just deal with them being a bit warm to handle. They're pretty easy to pull apart, just make sure the clips are all free. Don't forget to pop the metal clip off the top and take the 4 screws out BEFORE you put them in the oven.

does any condensation occur cause the headlights were taken apart and painted?
