Where do I install the water temp sensor?

I'm looking at installing my Defi BF gauges very soon and wanted to know if there is a port on the block where I can screw the sensor into. I've seen the thread showing the port on the front of the motor for oil pressure, just looking for the same thing for water.

I'd rather not have to buy one of those coupler things and slice up my radiator hose.

TIA

I dont have the pictures but on my other cars, I used the thermostat housing. It had an extra port on it for the sensor, or you could replace the factory sensor (for the gauge not the ECU) with your aftermarket temp sensor.

Found a quick write up when searching for "Evo X thermostat housing". I hope its ok to cross post with other Forums

They sell fittings at lowe's for you to be able to do this. Find the oil pressure gauge install and youll see what im talking about.

Hey guys,

Im trying to install a defi water temp gauge and bought the Works water temp sensor adapter. However when I was trying to remove the plug off the thermo start housing it would not come off no matter how hard i tried. I was turning left btw (CCW).

Try an impact socket it impact driver. NOT impact wrench. Or buy a new housing and start from scratch?
