Hey guys, i recently received a gift of a HKS SSQV BOV Limited edition. It's exactly the same the difference is that it's just black. I've been very confused because i know we have a recirculating system, and these BOVs do not have that. we have two pipes that connect to the OEM BOV. the HKS only has one input. If any one can help i would really appreciate it. thank you.

 

I suggest you not to use that valve.

 

I'm running a non recirced hks ssq, and just use a flange and connect to the pipe that leads to the front of the engine and cap off the other with a plug of some sort

 

Mine was recirced at one point but no more

 

you can buy the recirc. kit for the hks bov.

 

Do you know how much they paid for the blowoff valve? Was it purchased on ebay?

 

i had the 2nd gen hks ssq and if i remember correctly it was supposed to hold up to 30 or 32psi...it would crap out over 25psi. just my 2 cents.

 

Cap off the intake port. You can vent to atmosphere, you will just run rich after shifting as a result. Make sure the valve is closed at idle by adjusting the spring tension.

This is not the recommended BOV set up for the Evo. I ran a similar set up on my old Eclipse GSX and never had a problem with it. Your mileage may vary.

Research BOVs.

 

Thanks guys, the BOV was bought for about 120 shipped and yes it was from eBay. The man had a perfect feedback so I guided my self by that. In adittion, he had sold over 50 of them as a Result, if anything was to happen I think it's enough products sold for someone to complain about them. I'll research what u guys where tellining me of the recirc kit. Thanks again

 

just wondering if anyone knows anything about installing this particular blow off valve? i dont know what flange i need to install it. theres steel mild steel aluminum and different sizes. im not the master mechanic id like to be but i cant find any indication as to what metal and size i should get. usually id assume the bigger the hole the better but i do not know. and my mechanic wasnt any help. he just said to get the flange. also if you know where i could get the flange sooner than 4 months later from hks japan that would be awesome. tuning a new car is always such a joy....

 

Don't use it...I did installed it and returned it.

HKS is good products....but for evo x not...BOV...
