HOW TO: ETS Intake and ETS UICP Detailed Install Guide
#46
I am having problems finding the second bolt to install the heat shield anyone else have a problem with it ? 2012 GSR. I will take pics tomorrow when it's not raining. Intake install went well other then the heat shield. Car sounds great now even sounds quieter at hwy speeds. No drone from stock anymore.
Heat shield will mount:
1) On the filter
2) The 10mm bolt you took off on the RHS of the stock filter box.
Hope that answers your question

If you're talking about the shape of the black plastic piece of the stock MAF that bolts to the velocity stack then I have the same issue and its nothing to worry about. The edges are tight against it but the middle isn't.

Installed this today! Holy crap sounds amazing! Only problem I ran into was step 10. I just replaced the whole line instead of tapping into the other one hopefully that doesn't cause any issues?

Amazing install guide. I used this a few weeks ago and everything was spot on. Being my first car I've modified and this being my baby, I was scared to do it, but this guide made everything a walk in the park. Thanks for all the hard work!

My guess is that the coupler between the intake and MAF housing isn't pushed onto the intake as far as it needs to be. There's very little room for error at the turbo inlet.
