Smile AMS stuff... =)

So I've been waiting forever and a day and my parts finally arrived...

I did the research and decided to have a crack at installing them myself...

I like to keep organized so I don't misplace anything and I also know what bolts are supposed to go where...

Before...

Front...

Lower...

Almost done...

Finished...

I REALLY took my time being this is the first time I've ever installed anything like this much less take my front bumper off. Made sure all those couplers were on nice and tight. All in all it took me about 4.5 hours to do. Very well worth it for the experience and the personal satisfaction.

Here is a shot of my engine bay.
Other than my pipes being powder coated black, I am curious why your upper IC pipe has such a long flex coupler to the inlet. it looks like you have the lower extension for the cold air attachment used as a coupler for the upper IC pipe. am i the only one seeing this? lol
How deep is that upper rubber hose sleeved in that upper aluminum pipe? or does the pipe actually meet the rubber hose efficiently?

I'm just a bit confused... I think you may have used the lower rubber hose for the cold air set up. do you have miscellaneous parts layin around from the install? a small rubber tube coupler(similar to bov hose), and an aluminum pipe collector with a bracket. If this is the case, you gotta get that bumper off again for the filter relocation. It should sit behind the driver's side foglight, before the wheel well.
This is the only explanation I can come up with. Another determinant is that AMS doesn't tend to provide instructions with their products so maybe you installed it wrong. then again, if you ordered the cold air kit then why would you have the heat shield... or does AMS provide it along with the cold air kit so the customer could revert to short if desired. LOL, just trying to get to the bottom of this.

Damn, good job dood, seems like you did a legit job as well. [:

And FYI, get some higher quality t-clamps because those cheapy ones don't work. :X I have experienced it and ehh... i don't like it at all. :X

Jayroc,

I see what you're talking about. I'm not sure if they're different cuz of the powdercoating or not.

In your setup your pipe is much longer than mine.

In my setup, the middle pipe is alot shorter than yours. The coupler that connects to the inlet is a bit longer than yours. Why that is, I don't know.

You can also see from the first pic that the middle pipe is quite short compared to yours.
