Need Help Finding New CF Hood - OB X

My car was destroyed last week via hail and the insurance company is kicking in for a new roof and hood. I'm trying to find some CF hoods ASAP. Any suggestions for Octane Blue? Any pitfalls w/ carbon (cold, auto wash, maintenance, etc...??)

love to hear some feedback/pics - thanks

The AMS cf roof is nice. And $1,000 for the roof isn't that bad of a price considering the fact that the JUN front lip alone is $1,000.

I bought a cheap CF hood for my 1G back in the day (ebay claims another victim). The gel coat faded and cracked after about 4 years. But I didn't wax it much either. I have heard newer quality hoods hold up better, so it seems you get what you pay for...

I have had good experiences with Seibon in the past and had a hood on my old RSX Type-S. As far as maintenance goes, just treat it like the rest of the car...wash and wax.

And post pics! Pics of a cf hood on an OB is pretty rare.

just look on the official octane blue thread. i recall seeing a number of X's with cf hoods, some of which looked fantastic. i'd check there to get an idea of different styles and fitments

seibon good quality?? maybe only for the look, their carbon hood is no different than just fiberglass hood except the carbon look and with lots of CSM for backing. The only thing they are good at is spraying clear coat. lighter than stock.... no, stronger than stock.... no.

Well I'm not sure about your car, but my 08 x has a metal hood not fiber glass, and the cf one should be lighter and more ridged than the factory one, about 20lbs lighter is what I've been told. The hood is aluminum though and a cf hood will not be much lighter, 1lb at the highest point is what Seibon says, which will make a little difference on lowering the center of gravity.
