TPMS DIY Tool coming ???
First off I want to apologize for being so negative on the results you guys have found.
I have been playing around with the TPMS sensors for a while now and found that the Bartec was the the easiest tool to work with. This includes ease of use and efficiency. The tool also stores your sensor numbers.
Lastly, I do not work for Bartec. I just work at a shop where we have spent A LOT of money finding the best tool.
(In a perfect world) You guys can all get together and pitch in some money, buy the tool, and pass it around like a cheap *****.
But we all know some douche will screw it up by not sending it to the next person.

At this point, it's a race between this DIY tool to reprogram the ECU with new sensors every tire/season change, OR the programmable sensors from ez-sensors, which lets you program the 4 new sensors to be the same ID codes as your first 4 stock sensors. There-by eliminating the need to reprogram every season change.

Which ever comes out first will gets my business.
Currently my stock rims are my winter set now. I'll be purchasing new rims for my summer tires come spring. Hopefully by then one of these 2 will be available on the market.

I've already paid for and installed a second set of sensors so i'll be waiting for the quickset, but for people who haven't bought anything yet this might be a good option pending reasonable pricing
Taken from another thread on these boards:
A bit of an update: I was told by Discount Tire in Phoenix Arizona that they would re-program the TPMS for free. I mentioned that I understood doing this when getting tires mounted, but that my tires would last me more than one season (I have summer and will be buying winter for when I move to Chicago); he said no problem, they do it for free, and that I should just come in. They carry the Bartec 400+ computer that is able to do this.
well, the tool looks like it's a major let down. It doesn't look like they are planning any Mitsubishi Support. On the bright side, the local Costco guy said they received an e-mail last week saying they need to update ASAP and the software will be sent to them. He suggested I check with them once a week and is most likely to arrive this month. keeping my fingers crossed. Costco reprogram will be free, so no need of the pointless tool itself. waste of money at this point.

The ateq has mitsu support, just not for the lancer. They picked some random models that nobody gives a crap about and added those to their list. They used to respond to emails, and answer questions, but not anymore (not to me at least lol).
lol :today's current status:

Subject: Question about TPMS quickset tool
Hi, I drive a 2008 mitsubishi lancer and was wondering if this tool will work for me to reprogram my TPMS system. If not, will it work in the future?
Thank you,
Arthur
