Good Rain Tires

This is probably a dumb question but here it goes...

I'm moving to a place where it rains a lot so do they sell tires made for wet conditions? Like I said be nice and don't rip my head off but I honestly don't know if they do. I know they have snow tires and such but rain tires? Thanks guys

Note: Washington (State) is where I'm moving.

Just make sure your tires (not winter) have good tread depth.

I've had good results in the rain with Sumitomo summer tires (HTR Z II and III's), but they shouldn't be used in temps below 45F. Are you wanting something more along the lines of a performance all-season?

I liked Goodyear Eagle F1s in the rain, but found them mediocre in dry conditions.

Huge fan of the Conti DWS. Our winter in Toronto Canada has been very mild and rainy this year and these tires continue to perform well. The car doesnt see much action on snow days. Last night I even sold my winter tires. It is no replacement for true Snow tires. But in the wet rain conditions it holds up very well. It is also a very comfortable tire.

Kracka's recommendation of Sumitomo summer tires are a good choice as well. I have used them in the past and had a pleasant experience.

Heavy rain and standing water with stock Yokohama's felt like I was on ice or water skiing.. switching to the DWS was a huge improvement.

DWS are very good and a still a 50k warranty. Really can't be beat for an all season. I use mine for winters in NE OHIO. No problems. Smooth, quiet, good traction in all conditions.

Talk to a Tire Rack rep. I've been through Kook V12s, Falken FKs, HTR ZII and IIIs, Star Specs and of course the stock. I now have Dunlop Sport Maxx TTs (for 10k miles) and they are superior to all of those in the wet, and almost as good as the Star Specs in the dry.

I've read forum review after forum review on both EvoM and my old hang out NASIOC, and Tire Rack has always been able to give me clean and clear advice. Check out the road test:
