Rain = Sputtering?

I don't know if this is a common problem with Evo's but when its rains outside my car does not like it. The car will begin to sputter when driving around town. I opened the engine bay to check if my intake was getting wet and it is not. I can't think what the issue could be. The car had this issue when it was stock too so it doesn't have anything to do with the mods. When its not raining no issues whatsoever.

I'm confused....

I used to have the same problem. But I used to get a check engine light, Throttle position code. One day I just checked the Throttle position sensor wiring, added some di-electric grease and have never had the problem again.

mine did something similar and water was getting into the connector for my MAF, i eventually had to replace my MAF, since it had been going on before i bought the car too. rotated the MAF, with some dielectric grease in the connector and it's all good now.

Check for electrical gremlins in the lower left kick panel.

when its humid or wet weird things happen with electrical stuff. My evo used to not start when it rained. Turned out it was water getting on the starter cable

I would check to see if water was getting in and hitting any electrical things. GL

I get a similar issue just from the change in the weather. mine tends to kick a random engine misfire code. but it tends to only be when the weather changes. usually only a problem until the car warms up fully. but if it stays rainy or snowing or dry, there is no issue.

It's been a very wet sprint this year and I have not had any issues like your. Good luck running it down.
